The Bureau of Jewish Education is the communal resource for Jewish education in Central Indiana.
For 100 years, the BJE has been an innovator in Jewish education. Today, the BJE is pioneering using technology to assist students who are geographically distant from the community to learn with their peers.
The BJE is a leader in Early Childhood Education. Preschool programs have been offered for students ages 2–6 since 1924. Exposure to Hebrew and Spanish language instruction, in addition to a complete multi-sensory and multi-cultural curriculum, enhances the children’s world view and curiosity.
Adults can participate in continuing legal education, Modern and Biblical Hebrew instruction and Hebrew conversation.
The Maurer Library, a partner of the Indianapolis Public Library, serves as a neighborhood resource. Local residents have access to the internet through our computer lab. Our professional librarian is there to assist all patrons.
Holocaust Education programs and Teacher Training seminars are held regularly. The Holocaust Education Trunk program provides materials free of charge to area schools.
These programs are only possible through the generosity of the community. Donating to any BJE Endowment Fund ensures that these programs will continue to thrive for another 100 years.
