Early Childhood

Pre-school & Kindergarten

Early childhood education prepares your child for a life of discovery and learning in the world around them. We offer children an opportunity to participate in high quality, innovative, and meaningful multi-cultural early childhood educational experiences that will enable them and their families to create permanent connections to the world.  Our curriculum integrates Jewish life and culture into daily learning activities.

Our program accommodates children from ages two through six, including a full-day kindergarten program, that creates a foundation for future learning and school success. Our well-trained staff includes teachers and assistants as well as specialized instructors who conduct classes in Hebrew, music, movement, physical education, swimming and library. The adult/child ratio is kept low to ensure that each child receives personalized attention. This child-centered curriculum is characterized by warmth and personal respect. Children in all classes are encouraged to be actively involved in the learning process, to experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials.

The BJE was the first and is the oldest Jewish preschool program in Indianapolis.  Classes have been offered since 1924.  Our program has been recognized for educational excellence for many years.
