We Must Bear Witness: Teaching the Holocaust in Indiana Classrooms

Indiana middle and high school teachers can attend an workshop in the Fall or Spring that will help them become proficient teachers of the Holocaust. Workshops are discounted for Jewish educators.

Our feature speaker will be Lauren Granite from Centropa.  Laura has a doctorate in the Sociology of Religion from Drew University. She received her Master of Philosophy Degree in Religious Studies from The University of Chicago, and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from New York University. Lauren brings to Centropa fifteen years of experience educating students in universities and colleges, high school, congregational schools and adult education settings. In these varied educational institutions, she created and taught courses in Jewish history (ancient, medieval, modern, Holocaust, Israel), women in Judaism, comparative religions, diaspora Jewish communities, and Jewish culture.  Information about Centropa is available at www.centropa.org.

Priority registration and payment of $25 must arrive at the BJE Office by October 24, 2010.  Registration fee after October 24 is $30.  Special scholarships available for Jewish educators.  Registration Fee includes continental breakfast, materials, lunch, and 6-hour PGP Certificate.
